Types of data processed

Navigation data

Information systems and the software procedures for running this website acquire, in the ordinary course of operations, some personal data whose transmission is implied in the use of the communication protocols of the Internet. This type of information is not collected for the purpose of being associated with identified interested parties; however, on account of its nature, by processing and reference to data held by third parties, it may lead to the user being identified.
This type of data includes IP addresses or the domain names of the computers used by visitors to the site, URI addresses of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (successful, error, etc.) and other information relating to the operating system and IT environment of the user.

These data are used for the sole purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the website and to verify that it is functioning correctly, and are cancelled immediately after processing. The data could be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of hypothetical IT crimes that might damage the website: with the exception of this hypothesis, data on website visits are not kept for more than seven days.

Data provided voluntarily by the user

The optional, specific and voluntary sending of electronic mail to the addresses shown on this site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's address, needed to reply to enquiries, as well as any other personal data included in the mail.

Specific summary information will be progressively reported or visualized on the pages of the site designated for special services available upon request.

Cookies

No personal data of users are acquired by the website through cookies.

Cookies are not used for the transmission of personal information, nor do we use any kind of persistent cookies, namely, systems to track users' behaviour.

The use of session cookies (temporary cookies that are not retained when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of session IDs (composed of random numbers generated by the server) to allow safe and efficient browsing of the website.

The session cookies used in this website avoid using other IT techniques that are potentially detrimental to the confidentiality of users browsing the site, and do not permit the acquisition of the users’ personal identification data.

Optional nature of data transmission

Besides that stated for browsing data, the user is free to supply personal data in request forms sent to ISIDA or in any contact with the Institute to request the mailing of information or other communications.

Failure to provide this information may result in it being impossible for the Institute to fulfil the request.

Processing methods

Personal data are processed by automated means only for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which they are being held.
Appropriate security measures are taken against loss of data, unlawful or incorrect use and unauthorised access.

Rights of the parties concerned

The parties to whom the personal data refer may at any time request confirmation as to whether or not their data is being held, be notified of the content and origin of the data, verify their accuracy or request that they be completed, updated or corrected (Article 7 of legislative decree n.196/2003).

In accordance with this article, the parties concerned may demand that data held in violation of the law be cancelled, made anonymous or blocked, and object, for legitimate reasons, to the data being processed.
